Point styles A point is a single entity with a fixed coordinate position. Here is a small movie in which the landscape use of points (and the mechanism of altering point styles) is discussed.

Select style

A point is associated with a fixed coordinate position and is often used to place setout markers for a construction team. the figure below shows a typical example. The symbol associated with number 13, 14 and 73 is a point.

 The precise x and y (northing and easting) coordinates of a point can be gained via the Properties box. Point 14 is selected in the figure below and its coordinates can be seen in the Properties box.

Using Format>Point Styles enables users to change the size and appearance of the point style marker.
